A Slice of Mars: An Optimistic Sci-Fi Novel

Hey all!

I decided to finally start selling my books on Itch.io, too. I'd vaguely known that people do this, but I recently saw some conversation on social media suggesting it's gaining traction as a way for indie authors to share their work, so I figured I'll join in.

The first book I've uploaded here is A Slice of Mars, a slice-of-life sci-fi story set in a mostly optimistic future. It's heavily focused on the normal lives of normal people as they try to open a pizzeria in a society quite different to our own. I'd describe it as an attempt to imagine one possible anti-capitalist future; I think we all benefit from tying to imagine as many of these as possible, so that our collective imagination has can conceive of something beyond our current hellscape.

It's inspired by works like Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series, Ursula K le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness (though a lot of readers have compared it to The Dispossessed too, which I haven't read yet!), and Malka M Older's Centennal Cycle.

If you're interested, check it out! I'll also be uploading my older series, Digitesque, which is a more pulpy and adventurous sort of epic science-fantasy adventure, with a tiny dash of romance (extremely slow burn).

And whenever my next book comes out, you can expect to see it here too!
